Megan and Chad’s wedding was at Longview mansion, just 5 minutes away from our studio and one of the most elegant venues in south Kansas City. The interiors are just gorgeous and the light has something magical about it. Maybe has to do with old glass and I’m not talking about my lenses.

I love how in this and the previous shot you can see how me and Jan have 2 distinct points of view of the same moment. I was focusing on the expectation that Megan felt and she had to check how everything was proceeding outside. Jan instead saw mom and dad reflected in the mirror looking at their daughter and snapped a priceless shot.

I was left with the girls for 5 minutes, for a change. Love this shot, the light and the tones that Jan created.

The pergola has to be my favorite spot! At sunset the light is just perfect, the reflection of the pond fills the shadows for a perfect classic shot like the one on the bottom right. With the help of a little flash it’s so easy to change the mood to a more fashion, magazine style image, like the one on the left. Either way, some cool stuff from Jan.
