Senior photography. Kim at the studio and downtown Lees Summit

We shot Max for his senior pictures almost 2 years ago. Now his sister Kim decided we should take her pictures too. So we set up a studio and outdoor session so that we could mix the clean setups and strobe lighting with some warm natural light.

Love this rooftop shot and the toning of the image, really creamy and smooth.

Staircase shots, always fun.

New setup in the studio with the old bricks givse a nice window-like feel.

Then, a walk in the park with an good friend.

Taylor, senior photography at the west bottoms, Kansas City

We planned the session with Taylor accurately. She wanted some shots in the studio with her sax. Then we did some with our hot background. Pretty sweet.

Them cellphones take pretty darn good pictures these days.

Right at sunset we managed to be at the west bottoms, downtown Kansas City. Taylor was wearing her prom dress which looked really awesome in front of this rusty ol’ doorway.

The last rays of light of the day, the golden hour. She did a great job at playing model on this rusty loading dock.

We don’t endorse gang language and signs but sometimes is just too fun to pretend and act in front of the camera. Here she is, tough girl, don’t mess with me or you’ll get burned.

As a portrait photographer i get to shoot a lot of high school seniors in the Kansas City area. Vianca was such a fun person to work with. Always ready to strike a pose or crack a lough. Great personality and never trying too hard to look like somebody out of a magazine, it just happens naturally to her.

I love how soft this pose is and how smooth her skin tones are. Thanks to her Puerto Rican heritage and some photoshop trickery that Jan never fails to pull out of her hat. One of our signature Lightroom preset has been used in this image as well.

Usually we meet prior to the session with our seniors in a consultation meeting where we figure out outfits and looks as well as discussing with parents what are their expectations. After all their are paying for it.

This is one of my favorites from this session.

Asha, high school senior with an attitude

We shot Asha last week around Lees Summit. She has a busy schedule because of school and drill team. We had Heather, our make up artist, to do her magic and we where all really happy with the results.It was kinda chilly and windy but she was a real trooper. Very confident and relaxed in front of the camera, even with a little bit of goosebumps.Love this little corner just next door to the studio.Gloomy sky, edgy pose and gritty post processing for a very poweful image. Love it!
