We shot Grace when she was less than 2 weeks old. Our usual baby sessions also involve the whole family, so we made sure we had pictures of everybody snuggling with the new baby. Here is a custom book we put together for them. It’s an 8×8 FINAO broccade, it’s going to look awesome. Jan did the design for the layouts and the pictures are both mine and Jan’s.

Nolan felt pretty comfortable in front of the camera and did a super job during his studio session.

Maddie is a sweetheart. Mark is a sweetheart too. They are a happy, romantic couple that prefer to live in paradise. It’s not a metaphor, they actually live in St. Croix, Virgin Islands. But they got married in Kansas City, actually at her mom’s house right on lake Lotawana. Such a pretty setup. Claire was shooting with me that day. She is a sweetheart as well.

Pontoon boats were the mean of transportation of choice. And you can have a flute of champagne as well, as long as you are not driving…

Loose mansion in Kansas City was the perfect location for a fun, elegant wedding!

Jon & Sarah let us take some cute portraits while they waited for the big moment.

The shot on the right is Sarah waiting for her cue just before the ceremony. Dustin was shooting with us that day and gave us a big hand.

It was the quickest ceremony in history, then the fun began!

The light for this shot came from a cool building with glass blocks just across the street!

Lots of energy, laughter. dancing and love floating around at this party!

Emily & Brett were married at Attonement Lutheran Church in Overland Park, Kansas.
Before the ceremony, they had a “private viewing” in the chapel and then we boarded the trolley
which took the bridal party of 14 to downtown kansas city for some urban shooting. Lots’o'love happening here!

The reception was at The Club 1000 (10th and Broadway) that had an awesome view of the city from the (very sunny) rooftop.

All the details of the day were perfect including the beautiful (and yummy) cakes made by Carens Cakes of Kansas City.
And the catering by Sean Swindle of “Catering By Sean” was delicious (especially the salmon)
The flowers were spectacular thanks to Rosemary Riha Clyde of Final Touch Studios.
The details all came together thanks to Jayme from Event Studio.

What a fun bunch of friends and family … these 2 really enjoyed their wedding day!!

College buds all gathered for special songs.
There was no shortage of dancers and everyone (including us) had a great time!!

We are going to shoot Natalie and JT’s wedding this September. The wanted to have an engagement session somewhere downtown Kansas City. We talked about options for locations so that we could give them the photography the expected. Eventually we ended up deciding for South West Boulevard and surrounding areas. I guess the lure of a cold margarita played an important role in the decision process.

Right after sunset we found this really cool alley we didn’t know about. I love how the sky got so gloomy and the only available light was a yellow light bulb above the doorway. I was shooting with my tilt and shift while Jan was using an ultra wide. The results are both dramatic and romantic at the same time. Really happy about how this engagement session turned out.
